Q: What is the minimum broadband speed required to run Office in a Box?

A: If your service gives a download speed of at least 2Mbit/s you should be able to use the Office Phone in a Box for making and receiving calls. If you are using the virtual desktop in Office in a Box and Complete Office in a Box, faster down- and upload speeds will, of course, give better performance when transmitting or retrieving emails, files and so on. Here too, speeds of 2Mbit/s will produce a usable service the minimum requirement for a call is 150Kbs .

 

Q: What hardware do I need to run Office in a Box?

A: You can use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access (either wifi or hard-wired) to access the virtual desktop. Simply log in with your user name and password (supplied when you start your contract) and you can access your desktop on any device, from anywhere in the world.

 

Q: Who bills me for using your services?

A: Office in a Box gives you one clear invoice every month that shows you all the services you are using. You do not have to search through separate records of your phone, mobile and virtual desktop suppliers, as these are all coming from the same source. All calls are fully itemised and listed on your invoice.

 

Q: Where can I find more information on what the optional extras do?

A: The table below gives a description of each service and shows the monthly cost of using each one. [see separate table]

 

Q: I need to order more than five items. How can I do this?

Q: What technical support do you provide?

A: We operate a UK-based helpdesk that runs 24/7. Just contact us using the chat window on the website, or call us on 03456 885122 with your query, or send an email to support@connectboxes.com.

 

Q: What backup facilities are in operation for the virtual desktop?

A: All data are backed up every 24 hours and held on secure servers with full disaster recovery facilities. Antiviral protection is backed up every 24 hours to ensure further security of your information.

 

Q: What is the lead time on my order?

A: Once we receive your order we carry out the mandatory company credit checks and provision your order. Depending on what you have ordered, typical turnaround times are as follows:

 

-         a new inbound number         72 hours

-         a new mobile phone              5 working days

-         a new desk phone                  5 working days

-         a new virtual desktop              72 hours

 

 

Q: How long is the contract for Office in a Box?

A: All our Boxes have a contract length of 24 months.

  

Q: How can I pay for my purchases?

A: You can pay either by direct debit, invoice or credit card. Enter your details during the checkout process

 

Q: I already have a business mobile number. Can I use that on your service?

A: Yes. If you are out of contract, you can ask your service provider for your PAC code and we will process the order using that. It is a straightforward – and free – process. If you are still in contract, you might be required to pay a fee to end the contract early. The exact amount will depend on your current network and the remaining duration of your existing contract. We can advise you on this.

 

Q: I already have a landline number/a non-geographic number for my business. Can I use that on your service?

A: Usually yes. It depends on the terms of your contract with your existing service provider, and whether you have the right to port that number away from them. We can advise you on the process and help you to move your existing number over to our services.

 

Q: I work in a serviced office. Can I use Office in a Box?

A: Yes, depending on your broadband connection and the contract you have with the operator of your serviced office. If they are providing telephone and/or broadband lines and you are free to choose your service provider, then we can definitely help. Q: I work from home, but do not want to use my home telephone number for business calls. How can Office in a Box help me. 

A: The Number in a Box (the pink Box) gives you your own inbound number. This can be a non-geographic number (08xx, 0345 etc.), your local exchange or any other exchange that you wish. You can even use overseas numbers. This is what callers will dial and you can select up to seven simultaneous devices on which to receive the calls (for example your home office phone, your mobile, a colleague’s phone). This is your number and can be used to present your business, thus ensuring consistency in your marketing. If you want to dial out using your business number, then select the Office Phone in a Box (the purple box). This gives you the same number for both in- and outbound calls, as well as a choice of phones. It is also completely portable for when you expand into your own business premises.

 

Q: How does Office in a Box help my business to expand?

A: The Boxes are completely scalable. This means that you can start as a sole trader, for example with the Office in a Box that gives you your business number, a desk phone and office 365 on a virtual desktop. As your business grows, you bring in new employees, who also need communications services. You might want a salesperson to have a company mobile, so you source a Mobile in a Box (the green Box) for them. This handset can be added to your company group, so that there is less chance of the company missing a call, and you can manage the calls being made and received. As you grow further, you might set up a new department of desk-based workers, for whom you source Office Phone in a Box (the purple Box). These can be located in the same premises or remotely, but can all be linked together to ensure continuity and free calls between handsets. There are numerous combinations, all designed to help simplify your communications needs.


Q: How much do outbound calls cost? 

A: We charge on pence-per-minute rates and bill by the second. Redirecting inbound calls in the Number in a Box to UK landlines and mobiles are priced as follows:

Calls made to UK landlines and mobiles on the Mobile in a Box service are free of charge (subject to a fair-use policy of 4,000 minutes per month).
